Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are searching for Waste Operatives to join a well-respected and successful client at Manchester Airport. Join our team and become an essential part of creating a clean and welcoming environment for travellers from around the world.
What’s on offer:
- Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour
- Shift Pattern: 4-on/ 2-off
- Time: 14:00pm to 22:00pm
- Weekly Pay: Every Friday
- Full Training provided.
- Immediate Start!
- Temp to Perm (performance related)
Key Duties:
- Change out all bins in both landside and airside areas of Manchester Airport.
- Segregate waste materials in designated service yards according to recycling and disposal protocols.
- Ensure that all waste collection, segregation, and disposal activities comply with environmental and safety regulations.
- Manage and maintain Foreign Object Debris (FOD) bins and oil bins to ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Monitor and report any issues related to waste management, bin collection, and hazardous waste to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all assigned areas.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient waste management operations.
- Represent Mitie and Manchester Airport positively by providing excellent service and maintaining professional conduct at all times.

Requirements:
- Full UK Driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and must have been held for more than a year.
- Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy bins.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an airport ID, which includes passing necessary background checks and security clearances.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring high cleaning standards are consistently met.
- Great work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be over 18.
- Previous airport and/or cleaning experience would be beneficial.
