Tradebe is a group of industrial businesses with the commitment of creating a more sustainable planet and making significant contributions to human wellbeing. In the UK, we are leaders focused on recycling, energy recovery, and circular economy, managing all different environmental liabilities in a sustainable way.
What will you do? Make an impact!
The purpose of this role is to lead the commercial direction, growth, and performance of the Waste Transfer Station and package waste business, ensuring the UK network delivers against its revenue, margin, volume, and strategic growth targets in a safe, compliant, and sustainable way. The role will be responsible for shaping and executing the WTS and package waste commercial strategy, identifying and converting new business opportunities, strengthening customer propositions, and maximising value from existing and prospective accounts. Working closely with internal stakeholders across sales, operations, supply chain, bid management, finance, insights, and senior leadership, the role will ensure commercial plans are aligned, deliverable, and supported by robust pricing, reporting, and performance management. Externally, the role will build and maintain senior relationships with priority customers, partners, and market stakeholders to enhance Tradebe's market position, grow package waste opportunities, and support the continued development of the UK WTS network.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and implement the commercial strategy for WTS and package waste activities, identifying new business opportunities and supporting consistent delivery across the UK network.
- Work collaboratively with Tradebe sales teams to grow package waste volumes, expand services with existing customers, and coach teams to deliver against agreed commercial targets.
- Own and manage senior-level relationships with priority customers, acting as the escalation point for complex commercial or service-related issues.
- Support customer visits, presentations, trade fairs, bids, and mobilisation activity to help secure and onboard new opportunities effectively.
- Lead pricing activity for package waste, including the monthly pricing review, working with operational colleagues and in line with UK commercial sign-off limits.
- Compile, analyse, and report on commercial performance, including sales pipelines, volumes, pricing, variances, opportunity lists, customer trends, NCRs, key business issues, and proposed actions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
