We are looking for a Waste Transfer Station Foreman to join our team in Lower Compton. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary and a fantastic benefits package.
What is the role all about?
As our Waste Transfer Station Foreman, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the site, leading and supervising operational teams to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with company policies and procedures. You will oversee the operation and maintenance of both fixed and mobile plant equipment, ensuring machinery is used correctly, maintained to a high standard, and supports the smooth running of the waste transfer station.
What you will be doing:
As our Waste Transfer Station Foreman, you will:
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Waste Transfer Station, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational requirements.
- Supervise and support site operatives, providing guidance and maintaining high standards of performance, safety and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, waste management and health & safety legislation, company policies and site procedures.
- Operate authorised fixed and mobile plant equipment and help ensure all machinery is used correctly, maintained appropriately and remains fit for purpose.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation, supporting effective waste tracking, reporting and weighbridge activities.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring customer requirements are met while maintaining a clean, organised and professional site environment.

- Previous leadership and people management experience, with the ability to supervise, coordinate and motivate teams to achieve operational objectives and performance targets.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, ensuring records are maintained accurately and in line with compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills, capable of supporting efficient site operations and responding effectively to changing priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Certification to operate mobile plant - e.g. NPORS.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within the waste industry.
