About the Role
Grow a career in wastewater modelling by joining AECOM’s multidisciplinary Water Team in Scotland, where you’ll work on high-impact, large-scale infrastructure projects—including Scottish Water’s multi-billion-pound SR27 Enterprise, reshaping Scotland’s water and wastewater networks from 2027–2033.
As a Wastewater Modeller, you’ll:
- Support wastewater modelling projects under senior engineering supervision.
- Develop technical expertise while contributing to real-world solutions.
- Collaborate with contractors, charities, and water companies on transformational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Modelling & Data Analysis
- Assist in building, calibrating, and verifying wastewater models using InfoWorks ICM (or similar tools).
- Conduct data analysis, reporting, and technical documentation.
- Perform optioneering and design solution assessments.

Project Support
- Work alongside field teams, engineers, and designers.
- Participate in project meetings, progress reports, and Health & Safety processes.
- Manage budget and timeline constraints with guidance.

Who We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Experience or academic exposure to wastewater modelling tools (e.g., InfoWorks ICM) (training will be provided).
- Basic understanding of engineering principles in water/wastewater systems.
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to communicate findings clearly.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to develop technical expertise and grow within the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Master’s in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in a career in wastewater modelling and professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python/R) (not required but beneficial).
