Join our Water Team in Scotland as a Wastewater Modeller in our fast-growing network.
At AECOM, we drive innovation, delivering high-quality water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with leading clients, including contractors, charities, and water companies. In this role, you will:
- Support the delivery of high-impact wastewater modelling projects
- Develop your skills within an experienced technical team
- Contribute to Scotland’s transformational water infrastructure projects, including Scotland’s SR27 Enterprise—a multi-billion-pound programme spanning 2027–2033, with potential extensions
You will collaborate with stakeholders across the project lifecycle, from modelling analysis to design implementation, while honing your expertise in wastewater systems.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of wastewater modelling projects under supervision of senior engineers
- Assisting in model building, calibration, and verification using industry-standard software
- Contributing to data analysis, technical documentation, and project reporting
- Supporting optioneering and evaluation of design solutions
- Engaging with project teams, including field and design colleagues
- Participating in Health & Safety processes, including risk assessments
- Contributing to project meetings, progress reporting, and budget management
- Receiving on-the-job training to develop technical and managerial skills

Requirements
Essential Experience & Skills
- Exposure to wastewater modelling techniques or relevant tools (e.g., InfoWorks ICM)
- Basic understanding of engineering principles related to water/wastewater systems
- Ability to analyse data and present findings effectively
- Strong organisation, project management skills, and ability to thrive with guidance
- Excellent communication and teamwork capability
- Commitment to professional development

Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Master’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
- Interest in specialising in wastewater modelling
- Familiarity with data analysis tools or programming (e.g., Python) (advantageous, not essential)
- Working towards or striving for professional accreditations (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
