Help shape the future of water efficiency in the UK

What if you could help transform how an entire industry works together to tackle one of its biggest challenges?

At Binnies Digital, we're launching the Water Behaviour Lab - a pioneering industry-wide collaboration designed to help water companies share insight, learn from each other and accelerate progress towards water efficiency and per capita consumption (PCC) reduction targets.

We're looking for a Water Efficiency Innovation Lead to lead this exciting new initiative while helping water companies adopt an innovative AI capability known as Synthetic Audiences, enabling them to test and refine water efficiency campaigns before launching them in the real world.

Why join us?

This Is a Rare Opportunity To

  • Lead one of the UK's first industry-wide collaborations dedicated to water efficiency and customer behaviour change.
  • Work directly with water companies across the UK to drive meaningful environmental impact.
  • Partner with leading AI innovators, including Electric Twin, to introduce pioneering technology into the water sector.
  • Influence how future water efficiency programmes are developed, tested and delivered.
  • Build relationships with senior leaders and experts across the industry.
  • Create a role that doesn't currently exist and help define the future of industry collaboration.

About The Role

Reporting to the Director of Digital Products & Services, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of the Water Behaviour Lab, bringing together water companies from across the UK to share learning, coordinate activity and build a stronger evidence base for water efficiency interventions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Desirable

  • An established network within the UK water efficiency community.
  • Experience in behavioural change programmes, innovation initiatives, customer insight or cross-industry collaboration.
  • Programme or project management experience.

The one quality that matters most

The Water Behaviour Lab will only succeed if participating organisations remain engaged, collaborate openly and see value in working together.

We're looking for someone who naturally brings people together around a shared goal. Someone who builds trust, creates momentum and inspires action.

We can teach you how Synthetic Audiences work.

What matters most is your ability to build relationships and take people with you.

About The Water Behaviour Lab

The Water Behaviour Lab was born from conversations at the 2026 Northumbrian Water Innovation Festival, where water efficiency specialists from across the UK explored a simple but powerful question:

How much water could the industry save if it knew in advance which interventions would and wouldn't work?

The result is a new collaborative initiative designed to help water companies share evidence, reduce duplication and accelerate learning across the sector.

Interested?

If you're excited by the opportunity to improve water efficiency across the UK, introduce pioneering technologies into the sector and build something truly new, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help shape the future of water efficiency.

Please note: The Water Behaviour Lab is currently being developed with water companies across the sector. Appointment to this role will be made once sufficient member commitments have been secured and the initiative is confirmed to proceed, currently expected between August and October 2026.
