Water Hygiene Engineer

Location: Darlington / North East
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE plus company van, fuel card, door to door travel, phone, tools, uniform, PPE, pension and 28 days holiday including bank holidays with the option to buy additional

I'm looking for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join a growing team, ideally based in or around Darlington, covering client sites throughout the North East.
If you've got experience in water hygiene, take pride in your work and are looking to join a company that values quality and technical knowledge, this could be the opportunity for you!
Plumbing qualifications would be a distinct advantage, but they're not essential. Practical experience, a good work ethic and a solid understanding of water hygiene are what really matter.

What's involved?

  • Completing temperature monitoring, including hot and cold water outlet checks.
  • Conducting water sampling and monitoring.
  • Carrying out tank inspections, cleans and disinfections.
  • Undertaking showerhead descales and disinfections.
  • Completing flushing regimes and other routine water hygiene tasks.
  • Identifying and reporting defects or potential water hygiene risks.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and completing all relevant paperwork.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience working within the water hygiene industry.
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidelines.
  • Experience carrying out routine water hygiene duties.
  • Plumbing qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach to client relationships.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your workload and maintain accurate records.
