Water Hygiene Technician

Location: Field-based - covering Slough, Watford, Reading, Oxford and Guildford
Salary: £29,000 - £36,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday - Friday

About the Role

We are looking for a Water Hygiene Technician to join a growing commercial cleaning and compliance business, covering client sites across Slough, Watford, Reading, Oxford and Guildford.
This is a hands-on, field-based role involving water hygiene, water monitoring and preventative maintenance across commercial client sites.
You don't need to be an experienced Legionella specialist to apply. We are happy to consider candidates with a practical maintenance, plumbing or water hygiene background who have the right attitude and are keen to develop their technical knowledge.
Full training on Legionella compliance will be provided through the company's academy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine water hygiene and water monitoring at commercial client sites.
  • Undertake temperature monitoring of hot and cold-water systems.
  • Carry out water system inspections, including cold-water storage tanks and associated equipment.
  • Assist with tank cleaning and clearing.
  • Carry out Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) inspections and servicing.
  • Undertake shower cleaning and descaling.
  • Carry out water sampling for microbiological analysis.
  • Assist with water system cleaning and disinfection.
  • Identify potential compliance issues and report findings clearly to clients and the office.
  • Complete service reports and digital records accurately following each visit.
  • Liaise professionally with customers and site contacts.
  • Carry out minor plumbing-related tasks where required, including identifying and removing dead legs from water systems.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and PPE to the required standard.
  • Travel between client sites across the region.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
