Job Description

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

  • 30 Hours per week. Wednesday - Saturday, 08:00 - 16:00

Purpose of the post:

  • To complete, to the required quality standards, the preparation of samples for a given method.
  • To assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory.
  • To share the vision of providing the best possible quality to ensure each sample is processed with precision and accuracy.

Full training provided, no previous experience necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of water samples utilising good laboratory practice.
  • Preparing and dispensing consumables
  • Undergo training and follow laboratory SOPs and Safe Systems of Work
  • Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage, and maintenance of sample integrity.
  • Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.
  • Perform calibrations, daily checks, and other quality-related tasks as required.
  • Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
  • Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.
  • Comply with Health and Safety procedures, keeping the working environment clean and tidy
  • Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.

Qualifications:

  • Maths, English, Science at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
  • Experience in a fast-paced working environment
  • Awareness of good laboratory practices
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a driven outlook
