At Egis, we prioritise our people, and to enhance our Water capabilities, we are looking to recruit a skilled Water Programme Lead to operate as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line.
We are seeking a high-calibre Programme Lead to join our UK Water business, supporting major programmes across the Midlands. As part of a global engineering consultancy recognised for delivering sustainable and resilient water infrastructure, this leadership role is central to the successful delivery of complex, high-value multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects across the region.
This period marks an exhilarating time to join Egis's new Project, Programme, Portfolio (PMO) and Commercial Management Capability (“P3M CM”) UK, Ireland and Europe team, which is undergoing a transformative phase.
The P3M CM Function at Egis is deeply committed to boosting strategic operations and overall efficacy by:
- Developing a premier capability and team;
- Proactively engaging with markets and suppliers;
- Streamlining and enhancing operational workflows;
- Achieving results through strong commercial policies;
Amidst the challenges of managing the extensive infrastructure needs of Europe, these dynamic transformations offer numerous opportunities to contribute significantly to Egis's establishment as a leader in the infrastructure sector.

As Programme Lead, you’ll be the strategic force behind multi-disciplinary programmes—ensuring alignment with client goals, commercial targets, and delivery excellence. You’ll work across sectors, teams, and stakeholders to turn vision into reality, while embodying Egis’s values of responsibility, creativity, and collaboration.
Programme Leadership & Governance
- Lead end-to-end programme delivery across capital infrastructure/ Non-Infrastructure portfolios
- Establish and embed robust governance, milestone tracking, and risk management frameworks
- Align programme outcomes with strategic business objectives and client expectations
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and accountability
Commercial & Contract Oversight
- Oversee NEC3/4 contract administration (Options A, C & E), ensuring compliance and delivery excellence
- Collaborate with QS teams on forecasting, valuations, and cost control
- Draft and manage key contractual communications including EWNs and Compensation Events
- Lead the negotiation and resolution of change orders, variations, and claims
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and inform future programme improvements
Stakeholder Engagement & Growth
- Cultivate trusted, long-term relationships with clients, delivery partners, and internal leadership to drive strategic alignment and delivery confidence
- Actively identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities to expand Egis’s service footprint across existing portfolios
- Represent Egis at high-level client forums, steering groups, and external events—positioning the company as a preferred strategic partner
- Foster transparent communication channels and stakeholder engagement plans to ensure programme objectives are understood, supported, and achieved
- Represent Egis in client pitches and strategic forums
Business Development & Strategic Growth
As a key contributor to our growth strategy, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across our core sectors. This includes:
- Proactively scanning the market for emerging opportunities and client needs, ensuring we remain ahead of the curve.
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with both new and existing clients—acting as a trusted advisor and ambassador for our brand.
- Partner with Associate Directors and Directors to craft client-centric bids, while leading cross-functional engagement to showcase operational excellence, innovation, and commercial impact.
- Maintain a robust business intelligence database with client insights, bid outcomes, and lessons learned, while embedding feedback loops and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement across the business development lifecycle.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s Degree qualification in a numeric degree
- Full Membership of chartered body such APM at MAPM.
- Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirable
- Strong knowledge with CDM regulations and risk management
- Experience with ECI/ESI in design & build programmes
- NEC (3/4) accreditation (preferred)
- Willingness to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week
