About the Role
At Bristol Water, we are proud to provide safe, high-quality drinking water to our customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We're looking for a Water Quality Technician to join our Scientific Services Team, playing a vital role in protecting public health and ensuring compliance with water quality regulations.
This is a field-based role where you'll be responsible for collecting and analysing water samples across our network and customer properties. You'll be the eyes and ears of our Water Quality Team, helping us maintain the highest standards of drinking water quality while delivering excellent customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Water Quality Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and managing daily sampling routes across the Bristol Water network.
- Collecting water samples from company assets and customer properties.
- Undertaking on-site testing and measurements for chemical and physical water quality parameters.
- Labelling, logging, and recording samples accurately.
- Carrying out monitoring checks on equipment and analytical quality control testing.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records.
- Safely transporting samples back to the laboratory for analysis.
- Representing Bristol Water professionally when engaging with customers and stakeholders.

To support the delivery of a continuous safe water supply, you'll participate in a weekend, bank holiday, and standby rota, providing emergency and incident response sampling when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in accuracy, and is passionate about delivering excellent service.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- The ability to follow processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience recording and handling data accurately.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Good IT literacy.
- Physical capability to undertake manual handling activities associated with the role.
- A full UK driving licence.
