Job Description And Duties
The Water Resource Control Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of complex professional tasks related to planning, design, construction, management, and implementation of water quality protection and improvement projects seeking financing from various funding sources.
Duties
- Planning, design, construction, management, and implementation of water quality protection and improvement projects.
- Seeking financing from the Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fund, Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Fund’s grant/principal forgiveness funding, state bond funding, and other infrastructure appropriations.

Candidate Qualifications
- Integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.
- If the position requires driving, a current and valid driver’s license is necessary.
Working Conditions
- Positions may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on operational needs.
- Must reside in California upon appointment.
- Positions may need to comply with Executive Order (EO) 22-25 after July 1, 2026.

Salary Information
- Salary range: $6,488.00 - $12,152.00 per Month.
- Recruitment Higher Above Minimum (HAM) rate in accordance with the approved Civil Service Pay Scales.
- Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) will reduce an employee’s monthly salary in exchange for leave credits.
