Water AP / Water Safety Manager – Dartford DA2 – up to £65,000

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm

About The Role

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Water Hygiene professional to join a leading FM service provider at a large multi-use site in Dartford.

As the Responsible Person (Water) / Water Safety Manager, you’ll take technical responsibility for the safe, compliant, and effective management of water systems across the hospital estate. You’ll provide specialist technical expertise, lead water hygiene compliance activities, and play a key role in protecting patients, visitors, and staff across a complex healthcare environment.

  • Act as the Responsible Person (Water), ensuring compliance with HTM 04-01, ACOP L8, HSG274, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead the implementation, management, and continual improvement of the site’s Water Safety Plan.
  • Oversee Legionella risk assessments, water sampling programmes, flushing regimes, temperature monitoring, and remedial actions.
  • Manage specialist contractors, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, competency, and value for money.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records, investigate incidents, and support internal and external audits.

Requirements of the Responsible Person (Water) / Water Safety Manager

  • Technical qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, or significant experience within a senior water hygiene engineering role.
  • C&G or BOHS Legionella qualifications, ideally including WH003 Legionella Control for Responsible Persons.
  • Strong knowledge of HTM 04-01, ACOP L8, HSG274, and water hygiene legislation.
  • Experience managing Water Safety Plans, Legionella compliance programmes, risk assessments, and specialist contractors.
  • Familiarity with CAFM systems, compliance documentation, and technical reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
