Description

BMS ltd (Building Monitoring Services)

Water Systems Consultant

Who we are

Building Monitoring Services Ltd (BMS) is an established specialist consultancy providing independent water, air and workplace compliance services to clients across the UK.

Our expertise includes Legionella risk management, water hygiene, closed water system consultancy, indoor air quality and environmental monitoring. We pride ourselves on delivering practical, impartial advice that helps our clients manage risk, remain compliant and maintain safe working environments.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for talented people who want to play a key role in the next stage of BMS’s development.

Part of the Celnor Group

Celnor Group is a UK-based environmental services group operating across the Testing, Inspection, Certification and Compliance (TICC) landscape. With a growing portfolio of specialist businesses, Celnor provides essential services that protect people, property and the environment.

While each business retains its own identity, culture and technical specialism, all are supported by a central group function that invests in people, systems and long-term sustainable growth.

Job details

We are looking for an experienced Water Systems Consultant to join BMS, carrying out water monitoring and Legionella risk assessments across a varied portfolio of client properties.

This is a hands-on, field-based role where no two days are quite the same. You will visit a range of different sites, carrying out monitoring, inspections and detailed surveys, before producing clear, accurate reports and schematic drawings of water systems.

You will be trusted to manage your own workload, work independently and use your technical knowledge and practical judgement to identify risks, recommend appropriate remedial actions and provide clients with a consistently high standard of service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Produce clear, accurate risk assessment reports and hand-drawn schematic drawings of water systems.
  • Identify areas of risk, recommend suitable remedial actions and assign appropriate priorities to required works.
  • Plan and manage your own workload, ensuring visits and reports are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspection forms and visit reports.
  • Communicate any site issues, access problems or cancellations promptly to the Field Service Manager.
  • Work safely at all times, including when working alone, travelling between sites and working at height where required.
  • Maintain a high standard of service and professionalism when dealing with clients and site contacts.
  • Support occasional ventilation surveys and indoor air quality monitoring following appropriate training.
  • Undertake occasional overnight stays where required by the location of client sites.

Who You Are

  • Organised, self-motivated and able to plan and manage a varied workload independently.
  • Comfortable working alone and travelling regularly to client sites.
