Role Description
This is a full-time, Water Technician role based in Luton and surrounding areas. The Water Technician will carry out routine inspections, monitoring, and testing of water systems to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing maintenance and remedial works, and supporting the implementation of bespoke water management solutions. The role involves accurate data collection, use of digital tools and reporting platforms, and clear communication of findings to colleagues and clients. The Water Technician will work closely with the wider team to support sustainability goals, minimize water waste, and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery.

- Technical and operational skills: experience with water system maintenance, monitoring, testing, and basic diagnostics in industrial, commercial, or municipal settings.
- Health, safety, and compliance skills: understanding of water industry regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices, with a commitment to UKAS or similar standards.
- Data and digital skills: ability to record and interpret technical data, use digital reporting tools or insights platforms, and follow data-led processes.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills: capability to identify root causes of water-related issues and contribute to practical, sustainable solutions.
- Communication and teamwork skills: clear written and verbal communication, professional client interaction, and effective collaboration with on-site and wider teams.
- Relevant experience and education: prior experience in water services, utilities, environmental services, or a related technical field; vocational qualifications or certificates in water management, plumbing, environmental science, or engineering are beneficial.
- Additional desirable qualifications: full driving license for travel to client sites, willingness to undertake further training and certifications, and a strong interest in sustainability and long-term resource management.
