Job Title: Water Treatment Service Chemist / Account Manager

Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands

Salary/Benefits: £30k - £50k + Training & Benefits

A prestigious and respected name within the Water Treatment industry is recruiting for a Service Chemist / Account Manager for their Midlands team. The ideal candidate will be fully versed in cooling towers, team boilers and closed systems and will be confident in articulating technical matters to clients. You will be responsible for testing and chemical analysis on existing systems, providing tailored technical recommendations and upselling of company services, amongst other duties. We are seeking someone who is commercially-focused, and able to identify new business opportunities and act on any warm leads. Our client is able to offer attractive salaries and benefits packages for the successful applicant.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Water Treatment Service Chemist / Account Manager
  • Ideally will hold industry-related training courses (City and Guilds WMScoc in Legionella Risk Assessing, NVQ Level 2 Plumbing)
  • Robust technical knowledge, including: HSG 274 and ACOP L8 guidelines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience liaising directly to clients
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Professional manner

The Role:

  • Conducting testing and analysis on cooling towers, steam boilers and closed systems
  • Chemical dosing on systems
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients
  • Providing technical advice and support to clients
  • Identifying new client leads and following up to establish contact
  • Upgrading existing client accounts
  • Upselling further company services
  • Completing regular service documents and reports
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with clients
  • Ensuring works are completed within agreed timescales
  • Producing competitive quotations
