We are embarking on a huge program of global business transformation enabled by the implementation of a new global technology solution. The delivery and embedding of this technology solution across our highly successful and highly de-centralized business will change the way we work forever, enabling greater data insight, simplification of processes and ways of working and creating greater collaboration across the business.
To partner with the GM Transformation and Technology, Optimus Program Director, and colleagues within the leadership team to deliver value outlined in the Optimus investment business case to the business and to our consumers through the design and delivery of a Global Enterprise Platform.
Leading a specific Wave of the programme which will focus on specific Business Unit’s to deliver against the business case parameters (scope, time, cost, quality), managing the plan, scope, resources and deliverables to ensure the Wave is delivered and that the benefits are realised in line with the programme plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of the allocated Wave (within the associated Business Units) of the Optimus technology-enabled business transformation Programme including S/4HANA implementations from concept to deployment.
- Accountable for the delivery of a Wave of the Programme, including planning, monitoring and managing the delivery, on time, on budget, and as per highest standards.
- Promotion of collaborative working practices across business functions, Tech leaders, and suppliers to ensure successful alignment and delivery of the business and programme priorities.
- Ensuring the business’ in the scope of the Wave understands and manages performance, ensuring we are responsive to Wave delivery targets and minimise surprises.
- Proactive identification and assessment of complex technical and business ideas, leveraging knowledge of the functional domains to identify benefit.
- Ensure adherence to governance arrangements and management of internal and external stakeholders, including the reporting of updates are relevant Programme and Steering Group Boards.
- Proactive coordination of Wave specific activities and interdependencies, including management of risks, interfaces, and third-party contributions, to implement complex interrelated projects from concept to final operational stage.

As an SAP S4 Wave Delivery Director, you would be responsible for managing and executing a comprehensive roadmap to deploy SAP S/4HANA and associated SAP applications with a geographic/market scope, which are aligned to the Business Units within the Wave. The following skills will be key to the success in this role:
- Experience:
- Experienced in project management, specifically within SAP programs, preferably including S/4HANA implementations. It is also valuable to have experience in a related role in a similar industry.
- SAP Knowledge:
- A strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA and its capabilities, including functional and technical knowledge. Should also have knowledge of SAP's architecture and systems integration. Certifications in SAP can be beneficial.
- Programme/Project Management Skills:
- These include planning, budgeting, risk management, scope management, and performance tracking. PMP certification could be beneficial.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and executives. This includes the ability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently is crucial. This involves troubleshooting issues as they arise and implementing long-term solutions.
- Analytical Skills
- An understanding of data analysis and the ability to use this information to make informed decisions is important.
- Industry Knowledge:
- CGP experience is beneficial.
- Geographic experience:
- Has experience of running a global project/programme.
- Project or Programme Leadership:
- Proven experience of delivering complex technology transformation programmes across multiple geographies.
- Change Management:
- This includes understanding how to manage the human side of change, ensuring buy-in from stakeholders, and creating a culture that embraces change. The Wave Delivery Director should be able to communicate the benefits of change and navigate resistance effectively.
- Risk Management:
- The ability to anticipate, identify, and mitigate risks that could derail the transformation effort.
