Job Description
Salary: £25,394.88 Contract: Fixed Term - 2 years Hours: 35 per week (varied shifts) Location: Nelson Street, Belfast (with travel)

About the Role
As a Support Worker at Depaul, your role will focus on assisting women transitioning from prison back into housing and their communities. This role involves 24-hour emergency response, ensuring service users have access to assistance and a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and address neighbourhood concerns for service users.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of individuals in accommodation, including overnight checks.
- Respond to emergency situations while maintaining adherence to Depaul’s policies and procedures.
- Complete incident reports, wellbeing checks, and administrative duties in line with confidentiality and data protection.
- Participate in team meetings, case handovers, and training to maintain professional and consistent service delivery.
- Contribute to creating a safe, supportive evening/night-time environment for service users.
Person Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 qualification in a social care field (e.g., NVQ or equivalent).
- 1+ years of paid experience working with vulnerable individuals in housing, community outreach, or support roles.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and provide emotional support.
- Proficiency in written/verbal communication for incident documentation and team collaboration.
- Crisis intervention and emergency response experience (desirable but not mandatory).
- Understanding of housing issues, homelessness, and community reintegration.

Admin & Administrative Skills
- Proficiency with safeguarding, risk management, and crisis intervention procedures.
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines, alongside data protection and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently, particularly during night shifts.
- Experience with incident reporting and data entry in line with organisational policies.

Access NI
This position requires an Enhanced Access NI check. While having a conviction will not necessarily disqualify you, it is assessed based on the specificities of the role, nature of offences, and circumstances.
NISCC Registration
- This role is subject to Nursing and Midwifery Council (NISCC) registration.
- Applicants already holding a valid registration must complete it within the probationary period.
Job-Specific Requirements
The role requires the use of a car and a valid full clean driving licence.
