Job Description

Purpose of the role

To support the bank's decision-making processes by providing timely, accurate, and insightful information through designing, developing, and maintaining management reports, compelling visualisations and dashboards that effectively communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), data insights and trends across various business units.

Accountabilities

  • Design and development of comprehensive reports and dashboards utilizing best practices in data visualisation principles and design aesthetics to ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Design, development and implementation of automated report generation processes and visualisation methodologies for improved efficiency and timeliness.
  • Identification and analysis of business requirements to define report content and format.
  • Maintenance and updating of existing reports and dashboards to reflect changing business needs, including coordination of reporting template releases and related administrative tasks.
  • Development of robust processes & controls for collating input data, performing exploratory data analysis & data cleansing and seeking signoffs as required.
  • Engagement with stakeholders as needed to ensure up to date data is incorporated into reporting and visualisations.

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.

Wealth Management Commercial Reporting Manager | Barclays | London

As a Commercial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for turning complex data into actionable commercial insights that influence decision-making across Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management (PBWM). Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will analyse business performance, identify opportunities and risks, and deliver clear recommendations that improve commercial outcomes.

The successful candidate will lead the production and interpretation of management information, performance reporting and KPI analysis, providing meaningful insight into business performance across PBWM. A key aspect of the role is presenting findings within regular performance and trading forums, confidently challenging outcomes, explaining trends and influencing strategic direction across the business.

You will act as a trusted commercial partner, helping leaders understand what is happening in the business, why it is happening, and what actions should be taken to improve results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities and commercial drivers.
  • Produce insightful management information, performance reporting, dashboards and visualisations that support decision-making.
  • Generate actionable recommendations that influence business strategy and improve commercial outcomes.
  • Lead weekly and monthly performance reporting cycles, ensuring stakeholders have timely and accurate information.
  • Present performance insights and recommendations within regular trading, performance and governance forums.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across PBWM, providing data-led challenge and constructive recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on key commercial, client and business performance metrics, identifying areas requiring intervention.
  • Support business forecasting, planning and target-setting activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, insight generation and data management processes.
  • Partner with teams across PBWM, Finance, Strategy and Operations to ensure consistent and meaningful performance measurement.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience analysing data and generating insights that have led to measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Demonstrable experience presenting complex analysis and performance insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leading business performance reviews, trading forums or management information discussions.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience manipulating and analysing large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-making through data-driven storytelling and recommendations.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience within Wealth Management, Private Banking or a broader Financial Services environment.
  • Experience with business performance management, forecasting and planning activities.
  • Experience building dashboards and performance reporting using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau or equivalent).
  • Understanding of client, product and commercial performance metrics within a regulated financial services environment.
