St. James’s Place is the UK’s leading advice-led wealth management organisation. We are recruiting Trainee Financial Advisers to join our flagship development pathway for individuals who want to retrain into a professional career in financial advice.
You might not have a background in finance. You might never have considered becoming a Financial Adviser.

What does a Financial Adviser do?
You’ll build trusted relationships with clients, understand what they want their money to achieve and help turn those ambitions into a clear, practical financial plan for their future. Helping clients connect their money to the life they want to live can be a highly rewarding career for the right person.

Our Adviser Academy offers you the opportunity to develop into a competent Adviser, join an established practice or build your own advice business.
We’re particularly interested in people who have resilience, integrity, drive, empathy and bring strong transferable skills from careers such as:
- Sales & business development
- Banking & financial services
- Account/client management
- Recruitment
- Consulting
- Professional services
- Entrepreneurship
- Leadership & relationship-driven roles
Ideally, you will also have:
- A minimum of 5 years' professional experience.
- Level 4 qualified (DipFA, IAD, CISI or equivalent) or committed to working towards Level 4 Diploma Status.
How we will support you:
You’ll receive structured training and development as you work towards becoming a qualified Financial Adviser. Successful applicants will be assessed for entry into St. James’s Place’s Adviser development pathway.
