Job Title: Weaver
Reporting to: Weaving Team Leader
We are currently recruiting for a Weaver to join our busy Weaving department. As a Weaver, you will be operating weaving and warping looms to produce our luxurious textiles.
This is a full-time, permanent position working an average of 38 hours per week on a rotating three-shift pattern (early, back, and night shifts), with shifts changing weekly.
Rate of pay starting from £13.45, along with shift pay allowance.
About the Role
As a Weaver here at Johnstons of Elgin, you will be operating a set of looms efficiently, as well as repairing any broken warp and weft threads. You will be responsible for monitoring the looms for any weaving defects, evenness of colour or patterns, and reporting any defects to our technicians. You will also ensure that weft creels are replenished with yarn, maintain product quality standards, and work with attention to detail. You will nonetheless aim to achieve the required output levels to meet our production plan. There are some manual handling tasks, and heavy lifting will be required.
