About our company
Camira are a multi-award-winning textile manufacturer with two centuries of heritage and a forward-thinking approach to innovation and sustainability. Camira designs and manufactures environmental fabrics for the commercial, public transport and residential sectors.
Purpose of the role
To manage and operate a set of weaving machines, produce woven fabrics to set schedules and to meet customer demands on the teams night shift.
The day to day
- To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
- To manage and weave up to 12 looms using both natural & synthetic yarns.
- To understand and operate both dobby and jacquard looms
- To maintain a high standard of quality when weaving on the looms, repair warp & weft breaks, ensure weft creels are filled and full pieces of fabric are doffed at the correct length.
- Checking work to ensure fabrics are defect free and ensuring all quality procedures are followed and documented.
- To take the responsibility to stop machines weaving if they suspect any quality problems. Ensuring any quality issues are reported to their team leader and loom tuner.
- To ensure the working environment is maintained to a high standard, maintaining their work areas in a safe, clean & tidy manner with a high standard of housekeeping.
