About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Application Developer to join our Digital Operator Solutions team at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications that support our critical operational infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to shaping our cloud-based ecosystems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with future technological advancements. You will lead the full development lifecycle of microservices-based applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the architecture of our digital platforms, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in modern web development and cloud architecture. Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and Angular is essential, along with a comprehensive understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services such as S3 and Load Balancers. Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is required, complemented by knowledge of event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka. A solid grasp of NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB, and principles of secure coding and compliance are critical. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, Agile methodologies, and experience managing third-party development teams will be advantageous. Fluency in German is mandatory, while proficiency in English is considered a plus. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development, testing, and deployment of microservices-based web applications, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical standards.
  • Define and evolve the company's IT architecture, including software design and infrastructure, to ensure scalability, security, and future readiness.
  • Apply ITIL best practices to maintain operational excellence, actively participating in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and development providers, ensuring their deliverables adhere to quality and architectural standards.
  • Implement and uphold IT security policies by adopting secure coding practices and maintaining rigorous application configuration standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, performance, and developer productivity through technology upgrades and process optimizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless deployment of applications.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that enhance our digital ecosystems.
