About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Web Developer to join our Matrix Create division, the web development arm of LOCALiQ. This role involves designing, building, and supporting responsive websites across diverse sectors, ensuring a seamless blend of aesthetic appeal, functionality, and performance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating design concepts into fully functional web pages, maintaining content management system (CMS) content, and troubleshooting issues during the build and launch phases. The position offers a hybrid working environment, with two days per week based in Newport, Isle of Wight, and surrounding areas, providing flexibility to work remotely while maintaining a collaborative presence in the office.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a solid background in web development with proven experience in building responsive, user-friendly websites. Essential qualifications include proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress or Drupal. Experience with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or React is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility. A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience will also be considered. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Web Developer will be responsible for designing and developing responsive websites that meet client and business requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Translating visual designs into functional web pages
- Integrating and maintaining CMS content
- Ensuring websites are optimized for performance and accessibility
- Troubleshooting technical issues during the development process
- Conducting testing across multiple browsers and devices
- Implementing updates or improvements as needed
Collaboration with designers, content creators, and project managers is essential to deliver high-quality digital solutions on time and within scope. Additionally, the developer will participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and stay updated with the latest web development trends and best practices.
