Our client, a well-established public service organization, is seeking to expand their development team with a dedicated Web Developer to contribute to their ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

About The Role

The Web Developer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the organization’s web applications, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC) and involves working closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, upgrade legacy systems, and develop innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the continuous improvement of digital services provided by the organization.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should demonstrate proven experience in web development, with a solid understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies. Essential qualifications include proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, ASP.NET, VB.NET, and C#.NET. Candidates must also be willing to undergo pre-employment checks and vetting processes. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders, ensuring project requirements are clearly understood and met.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance existing and new web applications to meet organizational needs and standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues within existing web applications and websites, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on web applications to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance with best practices.
  • Convert and upgrade legacy sites and applications using modern technologies, ensuring compatibility and improved functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Stay updated with emerging web development trends and technologies to suggest innovative improvements.
