Web Development Manager with deep Wordpress experience required
Web Development Manager with deep Wordpress experience required, to take ownership of a major global web platform and lead a small specialist development team through a significant transformation programme. This role is 100% remote but you MUST be based within the UK to apply.
The immediate focus is hands-on technical leadership, consolidating multiple websites and regional platforms into a modern headless WordPress architecture. Sitting at Director level, you’ll help shape the technical direction, lead the migration and ensure the platform is scaleable, secure and built for long-term growth.
As Web Development Manager, you’ll lead a team of four developers alongside external partners. You’ll be responsible for technical direction, architecture, engineering standards and delivery, while remaining close enough to the technology to unblock the team and guide key decisions.

What we’re looking for
- Strong experience leading web development or web engineering teams
- Prior experience as a development manager, engineering manager or 'head of' is a hard requirement
- Excellent commercial WordPress experience, ideally with headless architecture
- Experience delivering website migrations, consolidations or replatforming programmes
- Strong knowledge of Next.js, TypeScript and AWS
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- Strong understanding of web performance, SEO, accessibility, security and reliability
- Confidence working with senior marketing, design, product and technology stakeholders
