Please read before applying This role is open only to candidates who are currently living in the United Kingdom and who hold the right to work in the UK without sponsorship. We are not able to consider applicants based outside the UK, including in Italy, and applications that do not meet this requirement will not be reviewed. Please do not apply if you are based overseas, even if you are willing to relocate. The role also requires a valid passport and the ability to travel for occasional team meetings and workshops in the UK and Italy.

About Essenza Escapes Essenza Escapes is a luxury villa rental and bespoke travel company specialising in Italy. We represent a curated portfolio of more than 400 privately owned properties, from coastal estates on the Amalfi Coast to historic villas in Tuscany and lakeside retreats in Como, and we design tailor-made itineraries for clients travelling throughout the country. We are a small, close-knit remote team split between the UK and Italy. Everyone here has real ownership of their work, and everyone's work is visible.

The Role Our website is our shop window. It is where clients discover our properties, judge our standards and decide whether to get in touch - and increasingly, it is also where search engines and AI assistants decide whether to recommend us at all. This role is first and foremost about keeping that shop window accurate and current. Loading new villas, updating rates and property details, editing and uploading photography, keeping every page across the site live, correct and well presented. It is steady, detailed work done at volume, and it is the backbone of the job. Alongside that, we need someone who can take SEO recommendations and actually implement them - heading structures, meta data, schema, content shaped for conversational and AI-driven search - and who has enough SEO knowledge to work from a brief without needing it spelled out line by line. To be direct about it: this is a doing role, not an advisory one. Most of your week will be spent working in the CMS, and if you are looking for a purely strategic or consultancy position, this is not the right fit. There is a backlog to clear when you join, and the first few months will be weighted towards getting the site into the shape it should be in. After that, the balance shifts. You will own the website day to day: spotting what needs improving and improving it, writing and building new content, proposing new pages and new layouts for our developer to bring to life, and keeping the whole thing performing. It is a role that grows into real autonomy for someone who wants it.

Hours & Working Pattern

  • Hours: We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates. If part-time, we would be looking for a minimum of 20-25 hours per week, worked flexibly across weekdays.
  • Location: Fully remote, within the UK.
  • Meetings: Periodic in-person meetings in London, plus up to two company workshops a year held in the UK or Italy. A valid passport and the ability to travel are essential.
  • Start: As soon as possible - ideally October.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Responsibilities

Property Listings

  • Upload new villas to the website: descriptions, specifications, location detail, features and amenities.
  • Keep existing listings accurate as details change — bedroom configurations, facilities, pool and staffing arrangements, house policies.
  • Load and update rates and seasonal pricing, making sure published rates always match our internal records.
  • Update availability, status changes, and any properties withdrawn from or added to the portfolio.

Photography & Image Management

  • Edit and prepare property photography to a consistent standard: cropping to spec, colour and exposure correction, light retouching, batch processing and export at the right size and compression.
  • Rename and upload images in line with our file naming conventions, and write clear, descriptive alt text for every one.
  • Keep image libraries organised and retire outdated or superseded photography.

Site-Wide Content

  • Keep every other page on the site current and live: destination guides, editorial features, landing pages, team pages, offers and seasonal campaigns.
  • Publish content produced by the wider team, correctly formatted, well optimised and consistent with our brand.
  • Carry out regular sweeps of the site to catch errors, outdated information, placeholder text and anything broken.
  • Help keep the site consistent in tone, formatting and presentation throughout.

SEO Implementation

  • Work through the recommendations set out by our SEO consultant and put them into practice across the site: heading hierarchy, page titles, meta descriptions, URL structure and internal linking.
  • Write and optimise content for conversational and long-tail queries - the way people actually phrase things in search and when asking an AI assistant.
  • Apply the changes that improve how Essenza is represented in AI-driven search surfaces such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity: clear factual answers, consistent information and well-structured content.
  • Add and maintain structured data and schema markup across property pages, destination guides and editorial content.
  • Keep on top of broken links, redirects, 404 errors, sitemaps and page speed, escalating anything deeper to our developer with enough detail for them to act quickly.
  • Report back to the team on what has been implemented, what it has moved, and anything in the recommendations that does not work in practice on our site.

Tracking & Reporting

  • Reporting using Google Analytics 4 and Search Console: traffic, top-performing pages, search visibility and conversion.
  • Support the accuracy of our tracking setup - tags, events and campaign attribution - working with our developer where needed.
  • A short monthly summary of what changed on the site and what effect it had.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Around two years or more of hands-on experience in website content management and SEO delivery, in-house, agency or freelance. We are interested in what you have implemented yourself, rather than what you have advised others to do.
  • A degree, or equivalent experience gained through agency work, an apprenticeship or a demonstrable body of freelance work.
  • Comfortable working at volume, accurately. Clearing the initial backlog is methodical work, and throughout the role there is detail that has to be right every time. You will need the patience for that alongside the appetite for the improvement work.
  • Enough SEO knowledge to work from a brief independently: on-page fundamentals, meta data, internal linking, structured data, and a working understanding of GEO and AI search, not simply an awareness that it exists.
  • CMS experience is essential. Craft CMS is a definite plus; WordPress, Shopify, Drupal, Umbraco or similar are all relevant. You should be confident working directly in a CMS rather than handing changes to someone else.
  • Genuine photo editing ability. Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Lightroom or an equivalent tool. Template-based tools such as Canva alone will not cover what this role requires.
  • Excellent written English and a strong eye for detail. A significant part of this role is spotting the small errors before a client does.
  • Self-motivated and well organised. This is a remote role in a small team with minimal day-to-day supervision. You will need to manage your own workload and speak up early when something is unclear.
  • Able to travel. A valid passport and the ability to attend periodic meetings in London and up to two company workshops a year in the UK or Italy.

Nice to Have

  • Google Tag Manager, GA4 event and conversion setup, GCLID handling and campaign attribution tracking.
  • Basic HTML and CSS - enough to fix a formatting problem without waiting for a developer.
  • Working knowledge of Italian.
  • Knowledge of, or real curiosity about, Italy and the luxury travel sector.
  • Experience using AI tools sensibly to speed up research, drafting and repetitive content tasks.

Salary Competitive, based on candidate profile and experience, and pro-rated for part-time hours. Please disregard any salary figure automatically generated by LinkedIn. These are platform estimates and are not provided by us. LinkedIn is the only official channel through which this role is advertised.

How to Apply Please send your CV to inspire@essenzaescapes.com, together with a short covering note of no more than 200 words, telling us why this role interests you and giving one example of website or SEO work you have implemented yourself, and what it achieved.

Applications without a covering note will not be considered.
