Senior Website Development Operations Manager
A leading Global B2B Payments Provider Senior Website Development Operations Manager is responsible for the operational management, planning, and delivery of all website development activity. Acting as the main central point between business stakeholders and website development teams, this role ensures projects are prioritised, resourced, delivered on time, and aligned with business objectives.
It's a lynchpin role which oversees all website development as well as translating the activity of it into actionable development briefs, manages delivery from inception through launch, and provides clear, consistent communication to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
You will report to the Vice President of Digital, be part of an international Digital Centre of Excellence and will have direct reports consisting of two website developers, a CMS Executive and a QA.
Website Development Operations
- Own and manage the website development workstack, ensuring all requests are appropriately prioritised and scheduled. Complete ownership of the JIRA board.
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of website developers, balancing workload, capacity and competing business priorities.
- Continuously improve operational processes, workflows and governance for website delivery.
- Support developers by removing blockers and facilitating effective delivery.
Project Management
- Leading website development projects from initial briefing through development, testing, deployment and post-launch review.
- Develop project plans, timelines, milestones and delivery schedules.
- Identify project risks, dependencies and resource constraints, implementing mitigation plans where required.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including UX/UI, marketing, content, IT, infrastructure and external agencies where appropriate.
- Monitor project progress against agreed timelines and budgets.

Requirements & Brief Management
- Receive, review and clarify website development briefs from internal stakeholders.
- Technical review of requirements and bridging the gap from non-technical to technical requirements between stakeholders and the web developers.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and prioritised development tasks.
- Challenge and refine requirements where necessary to ensure solutions meet business objectives and minimise technical debt.
- Ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined before development begins.
Delivery & Website Governance
- Ensure appropriate QA, testing and release management processes are followed.
- Managing the deployment of codes, ensuring deployments occur without introducing vulnerabilities.
- Monitor website performance, issue resolution and post-launch support activities.
- Maintain documentation including project plans, release notes and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organisational standards, accessibility requirements and governance policies.
- Contentful technical management, aliases, space settings and technical content types.
Reporting & Performance
- Produce regular reports on project delivery, workstack health, resource utilisation and operational performance.
- Track KPIs including delivery times, project completion, backlog size and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Use data and insights to identify opportunities for process optimisation.
- Ownership of the tool Zabbix to monitor website health and performance and ensuring SSL certificates are maintained.
Requirements
- Significant experience managing website development operations or digital delivery.
- Strong project management experience delivering multiple concurrent digital projects.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary website development teams with high technical understanding of website development.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical work packages.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience using project and work management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, Asana or similar.
- Experience managing enterprise CMS platforms (Contentful desirable).
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern development practices.
- Understanding of UX, SEO, accessibility (WCAG), analytics and website optimisation.
