POSITION SUMMARY
Wedding & Social Events Manager
As our Wedding and Social Events Manager at St. Pancras Renaissance it is your responsibility to act as one point of contact between the client and the hotel at all stages of the booking process from initial enquiry, contracting through to event co-ordination and billing. To communicate in an effective and timely manner all the clients specific requirements to all relevant departments. To lead and manage large-scale weddings and social. To ensure that company policies and legislation are adhered to specifically in the management of events.

Extraordinary Services
- Deliver and support the hotel and brand’s service standards at every moment, including knowledge of the hotel, it’s history, the Navigator and the RWay.
- Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions including shift briefings and any other.
- Is a role model for service and hospitality ensuring every guest is satisfied and will return. Obtain feedback and shares accordingly.
- You are responsible for operating within Marriott International’s policies and procedures and ensuring that you sign off the relevant declarations should cash, key or card handling become a regular part of your role.

- Work as a strong and committed team member and colleague, as well as proactively nurturing any stakeholder relationships (e.g. owner, extended sales team and suppliers).

Human Resources
- Support a departmental orientation program for new starters to receive the appropriate new hiring training to successfully perform their job.
- Ensure ambassadors are cross-trained to support successful daily operations.
- Use all available on the job training tools for ambassadors; supervises on-going training initiatives and conducts training when appropriate.
- Participate and supports managers and supervisors in the performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with ambassadors and ensures ambassadors do the same within the team.
- Actively solicit ambassador feedback, utilize an "open door" policy and review ambassador satisfaction results to identify and address ambassador problems or concerns. Bring issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as necessary.

Finance
- Maintain event management procedures to deliver accurate event billing, commission payments and event forecasting.
- Participate in the management of department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
Comply with all Marriott International policies and procedures, specifically in relation
You’ll need to know your stuff
- Ensures products and or services provided by hotel meet and where possible exceed guest expectations and builds customer loyalty through product and or service excellence.
- Builds the unit’s top line revenue by focusing on effective conversion of Wedding & Social enquiries and ensuring confirmed bookings has a signed contract and confirmed payment method.
- Maximizes revenue opportunities by working with operations to develop new offerings and packages.
- To be confident in sharing and updating hotel strategy team on the Social and Wedding forecast and updates on key bookings.
You’ll be expected to deliver on the following
- May work with highly complex or high profile groups, specifically Weddings and Social events, when financial impact will be significant.
- Be the first point of contact for all filming and photography enquiries and bookings and understand and identify the complexities of holding filming and photography shoots at St Pancras.
- To conduct show rounds and filming recces, including walk-in appointments, demonstrating a full knowledge of the hotel products and services, and tailoring the benefits to meet the client’s needs.
- To carry out shop calls on a monthly basis to competitor properties.
- To be involved in wedding fairs and other promotional events to draft new business.
- To promote a professional image at all times by being immaculately dressed and presented.
- Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels. Effectively responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
- Empowers associates to provide excellent customer service. Ensures associates receive on-going training to understand guest expectations.
- Have a sound knowledge and understanding of all hotel facilities (e.g. meeting room setups, menus, accommodation.
- Maintain an effective and organised filling on all confirmed bookings.
- Carry out other duties as may be required to support hotel operations to provide total guest satisfaction.
- Utilise all company resources available to maximise revenues (e.g. Marriott Bonvoy, Lead Referral Programs, 3rd Party channels)
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
