An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Wedding & Events Executive to join a well-established hotel in Derry.
As the hotel continues to grow its reputation as a premier destination for weddings, celebrations, and corporate events, they are seeking a highly organised, customer-focused professional to take ownership of the planning and coordination of special events from initial enquiry through to successful delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.
The Opportunity
As Wedding & Events Executive, you will play a key role in driving event sales and ensuring the seamless planning and execution of weddings, banquets, private functions, and special events. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, you will work closely with hotel departments, suppliers, and guests to deliver exceptional experiences while maximising revenue opportunities for the business.
This is a full-time position, with flexibility required to work across Monday to Sunday in line with the needs of the business and the demands of the events calendar.
- Respond promptly to wedding and event enquiries, delivering exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
- Conduct consultations, venue tours, and client meetings to understand requirements and showcase the hotel's event facilities.
- Prepare bespoke proposals, quotations, contracts, and event packages tailored to client needs.
- Manage bookings from confirmation through to event completion, ensuring all details are accurately recorded and communicated.
- Coordinate closely with food & beverage, kitchen, reception, housekeeping, and management teams to ensure smooth event operations.
- Organise and oversee final planning meetings, confirming guest numbers, menus, dietary requirements, timelines, and special requests.
- Liaise with external suppliers, including florists, decorators, entertainers, photographers, and AV providers.
- Oversee event setup and execution, ensuring all arrangements meet client expectations and hotel standards.
- Act as the main point of contact on the day of events, resolving issues professionally and ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Monitor event revenue, conversion rates, and sales activity, providing regular reports to management.
- Follow up with clients after events to gather feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, GDPR requirements, health & safety regulations, and brand standards.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in wedding coordination, events management, hospitality sales, or a similar hotel-based role.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to create a positive experience for clients and guests.
- Experience coordinating multiple events and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, professional, and customer-focused approach.
- Strong administration and IT skills, with experience using hotel management, CRM, or booking systems being advantageous.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required to support weddings and events.
