WEEE Waste Buyer

Location: Sheffield (Remote working an option)
Industry: WEEE Recycling
Reference: WEEEBUY-DB
Salary: £Negotiable

We are working with a growing recycling business that is looking to appoint an experienced WEEE Waste Buyer to join their commercial team based in Sheffield. This is a key role focused on sourcing and purchasing WEEE material, developing supplier relationships, identifying new opportunities, and maximising value from electronic waste streams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background within the WEEE recycling industry, with proven experience buying electrical waste from waste management companies, local authorities, recyclers, compliance schemes, manufacturers, or industrial suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase WEEE material from a variety of suppliers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with waste management companies, recyclers, local authorities, manufacturers, and industrial businesses
  • Identify and secure new supply opportunities across the UK
  • Negotiate purchasing prices and maximise commercial returns
  • Manage supplier accounts and build long-term trading relationships
  • Monitor market trends to remain commercially competitive
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activity, supplier information, and pricing

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience buying WEEE waste or electronic recycling materials
  • Strong understanding of WEEE categories and grades
  • Experience purchasing from waste management companies, recyclers, manufacturers, or compliance schemes
  • Knowledge of downstream recycling processes and material recovery
  • Commercially minded with strong negotiation skills
  • Sales focused with the ability to build and develop long-term supplier relationships
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Full UK driving licence
