Company Description

Home Instead Lewes District & Uckfield is a locally owned, family-run business, with our office based in the heart of Ringmer. Our mission is to help older adults stay connected to the East Sussex communities they’ve loved for years, while continuing to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.

We provide personalised, relationship-led care to clients across Lewes District and Uckfield. Our Care Professionals play an essential role in helping older adults remain safe, independent, and connected to local life.

Job Description

We are a locally owned, family-run business, with our office based in the heart of Ringmer. Our mission is to help older adults stay connected to the East Sussex communities they’ve loved for years, while continuing to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.

Weekends are especially important for our clients. They are a chance to enjoy companionship, fresh air, and familiar local routines. We’re looking for Care Professionals with weekend availability to support clients across Lewes District and Uckfield during these valuable hours.

Our Care Professionals provide essential weekend support to residents across the region helping older adults remain connected to local life.

The weekend role:

As a Weekend Care Professional, you’ll become a trusted presence in your clients’ homes, supporting their independence, comfort, and dignity. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with morning or evening routines
  • Preparing nutritious meals
  • Medication reminders
  • Accompanying clients to weekend appointments or local events
  • Supporting visits from family and friends
  • Providing warm, reassuring companionship (especially important during quieter weekends)

You’ll finish each weekend knowing you’ve helped someone enjoy their time safely and confidently in their own home.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of the job, please only apply if you live in: Lewes, Uckfield, Ringmer, Newhaven, Seaford and surrounding areas.
  • No prior care experience required (award-winning training provided at our Ringmer office)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable transportation for weekend visits across Lewes District and Uckfield
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • A naturally caring and respectful attitude
  • UK residency required (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred due to limited rural public transport
  • Minimum age 18
