About the Role
- Preparing and serving breakfast and lunch for residents
- Cooking fresh, traditional home-style meals
- Preparing Sunday roast dinners and seasonal favourites
- Baking occasional cakes and desserts
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Working with the care team to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences
About You
We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking wholesome, traditional food and takes pride in creating enjoyable dining experiences for older people. Experience in a care home, catering, or hospitality setting would be an advantage, although enthusiasm and a passion for cooking are equally important.

One of the main advantages of working as a care home Cook is that you will have a set schedule and dinner service is usually finished at a sociable hour. There is so much scope for creativity in a care home kitchen and working in a smaller environment gives you the opportunity to talk to the residents and staff to get their feedback, which you can use in creating nutritious meals that you know they will enjoy!

Working Pattern
- Saturday 07:00 - 14:00
- Sunday 07:00 - 14:00 Please Note - Enhanced hourly rate of pay on a Sunday, time and a half
Wage
- Qualified - £16.69
- Without formal catering qualification - £16.04
Alternate weekends or job shares will be considered.
