Weekend/Bank Chef
Location: Fen House – Ely
Salary: £14.43 per hour
Hours: Weekend only - 14 hours per week

MAIN PURPOSE:
- To work alongside the unit's full-time chef to ensure the weekend menus remain well-balanced and nutritious and take into account dietary requirements.
- To follow any dietary or food preparation guidelines as provided in service user care plans and guidance by healthcare professionals.
- To ensure that the storage, preparation, and cooking of all food are carried out using the highest standards of hygiene.
- Ensure high standards of food management within current Food Hygiene regulations and policies and procedures.
- To use electrical and mechanical catering equipment as appropriate.
- To ensure the maintenance and security of catering equipment, notifying your supervisor and appropriate people and agencies regarding repair and replacement as appropriate.
- To be responsible for the storage and use of cleaning items in accordance with COSHH.
- To contribute to other food-related functions as required by the service.
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the service users, contributing to the creation of a homely and pleasant living environment for each service user.
- During the course of your work, you will at all times conduct yourself in a professional manner acting as a role model to colleagues and service users, contributing to the delivery of quality services. To work as a member of the team, contributing to the team ethos and supporting service users and colleagues appropriately.
- You are required to report any enquiries/issues and/or concerns to the line manager, providing information to enable them to take appropriate action.
- To liaise in a professional manner at all times with service user(s) family members, friends, advocates, and other professionals as required at your location.
- To ensure that all relevant documentation is completed accurately and effectively in a timely manner.
- To undertake any other duties as may from time to time be specified by Brainkind, that is within the level and responsibility appropriate to the grade of post.

ABOUT YOU:
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Experience of catering within a commercial or care setting
- Awareness/knowledge of Health and Safety relevant to catering
- Awareness/knowledge of COSHH requirements
- Awareness/knowledge of moving and handling
- Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by line management) to ensure up-to-date knowledge relevant to the role.
