Weight Loss Pharmacist Independent Prescriber
Location: Nottingham
Rate: £30–£32 per hour DOE
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week
Weight Loss Pharmacist Independent Prescriber – Nottingham
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing private healthcare provider for an experienced Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join their expanding weight loss service based in Nottingham.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established clinical team delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred weight management services. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting clinical consultations, assessing patient suitability, prescribing weight loss treatments, and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.
Previous experience prescribing GLP-1 medications within a private healthcare setting is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical consultations for patients accessing weight management services.
- Independently prescribe GLP-1 medications in line with clinical guidelines and best practice.
- Assess patient suitability for treatment and provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up.
- Provide clinical support throughout the patient's weight loss journey.
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with GPhC standards.
- Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Support the continued development and improvement of the weight loss service.
- Promote safe and responsible prescribing practices.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Previous experience prescribing GLP-1 medications is essential.
- Previous experience prescribing GLP-1 medications within a private healthcare or private weight loss setting is essential.
- Strong understanding of weight management and GLP-1 treatments.
- Excellent clinical assessment and consultation skills.
- Strong communication and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced private healthcare environment.
