Job Description

Portico are looking for a Welcome Host to deliver an exceptional front of house experience and provide a warm, professional welcome to all visitors, tenants, and guests entering the building.

About the Role

This is a highly visible role where you will act as the face of both Portico and our client, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive and lasting impression. Working across two building entrances, the role offers plenty of variety and exposure to a wide range of responsibilities. At times, you will work as part of a close-knit team, while at other times you will be required to work independently and use your initiative to ensure the smooth operation of the reception areas.

You will be responsible for welcoming visitors, managing guest arrivals, and checking guests in accordance with occupier-specific procedures and security requirements. In addition, you will manage incoming calls, coordinate closely with internal reception teams, and support the day-to-day running of the front of house operation.

We're looking for someone who is approachable, professional, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. You'll take pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere, building positive relationships with occupiers and visitors, and ensuring the highest standards of service are always maintained.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
