Role Description
Portico are looking for a Welcome Host to deliver an exceptional front of house experience and provide a warm, professional welcome to all visitors, tenants and guests entering the building.
This is a highly visible role where you will act as the face of both Portico and our client, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive and lasting impression. Working across two building entrances, the role offers plenty of variety and exposure to a wide range of responsibilities. At times, you will work as part of a close-knit team, while at other times you will be required to work independently and use your initiative to ensure the smooth operation of the reception areas.
You will be responsible for:
- Welcoming visitors
- Managing guest arrivals
- Checking guests in accordance with occupier-specific procedures and security requirements
- Managing incoming calls
- Coordinating closely with internal reception teams
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the front of house operation
We're looking for someone who is approachable, professional and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service. You'll take pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere, building positive relationships with occupiers and visitors, and ensuring the highest standards of service are always maintained.

Hours and Salary
- Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week between the hours of 7:00-19:00
- Salary: £34,000
Qualifications
We're looking for an enthusiastic, personable and highly professional individual who thrives in a customer-facing environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service.
A friendly, approachable and confident personality is essential, as you'll be joining an established and supportive onsite team where collaboration, positivity and professionalism are highly valued. We're looking for someone who can build rapport effortlessly, make visitors feel welcome from the moment they arrive and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Previous Receptionist or client-facing experience, gained within a corporate, hospitality, hotel, luxury retail or similar service-led environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with people at all levels.
- A genuine passion for customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.
- A professional, polished appearance and a positive, can-do attitude.
- The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, using your initiative to deliver excellent service.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards at all times.

For this role, an SIA Licence is required. If you do not currently hold one, Portico will fully fund the licence and provide all necessary training. This additional qualification helps develop security awareness and supports the delivery of a safe, secure and professional front of house experience within a corporate environment.
