Role Description

This full-time Welder role is an on-site position based at Metal Fabrication Co. (Cardiff) Ltd in Cardiff. The Welder will prepare, join, and repair metal components using various welding techniques, following engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders. Daily tasks include:

  • Selecting appropriate materials and methods
  • Performing welds
  • Inspecting finished work for accuracy and quality

The role involves working with fabrication teams to assemble structures, operating hand and power tools, and maintaining equipment in safe working condition. The Welder will also:

  • Follow all health and safety procedures
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet project deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in core welding techniques, including Welding and Arc Welding
  • Ability to perform TIG Welding for precise and high-quality joints
  • Ability to perform MIG Welding for production and structural work
  • Knowledge of different Materials and their properties relevant to welding and fabrication
  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication or industrial welding environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
  • Commitment to workplace safety, including use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Relevant welding certifications or qualifications are highly beneficial
