Description

Impact Recruitment are working with a client to recruit an experienced Welder to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be joining a well established manufacturing business based in Daventry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled MIG Welder looking for a varied, hands-on role within a growing manufacturing environment.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8am-4:30pm, with a 3:30pm finish on Fridays

Location: Daventry, Northamptonshire

Salary: £38,000

Responsibilities

  • Carry out MIG welding on a range of steel fabrications, including generator fuel tank base frames and other generator components.
  • Read and work accurately from engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Carry out fabrication, repair and modification work where required.
  • Prepare fabricated steel components ready for painting and finishing.
  • Undertake sanding, cleaning, masking and other preparation activities.
  • Carry out industrial painting and finishing of fabricated steel components.
  • Inspect completed welding, fabrication and finishing work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
  • Safely move materials and fabricated components around the workshop using a forklift.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship across all welding, fabrication and finishing activities.
  • Support the wider manufacturing operation with additional duties where required.
  • Work overtime when necessary to support production requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous MIG welding experience is essential.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Good practical understanding of welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Previous experience carrying out fabrication, repair and modification work would be beneficial.
  • Experience with industrial painting or spraying would be advantageous.
  • A valid forklift licence would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting the wider manufacturing team.
  • Reliable, hardworking and committed approach to work.
  • Flexible approach with a willingness to support different areas of the production operation when required.
