St Neots Depot

Select Plant Hire is looking for experienced Welders to join our team at the St Neots Depot.

As part of our directly employed workforce, you'll support the maintenance, repair and fabrication of plant and equipment whilst benefiting from excellent training, development and long-term career opportunities.

Key Duties

  • Carry out fabrication and welding activities to the required quality standards.
  • Work safely and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Attend inductions, briefings and toolbox talks as required.
  • Read, understand and implement Task Sheets, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Assess risks and maintain safe working practices at all times.
  • Use the correct tools, equipment and PPE for the task being undertaken.
  • Maintain plant, equipment and tools in good condition.
  • Inspect and assess damaged equipment and accurately report defects.
  • Complete timesheets, records and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with Supervisors and Management regarding work requirements and priorities.
  • Contribute proactively to safety initiatives, including Hazard and Near Miss reporting.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
  • Attend relevant training and development activities as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of fabrication and welding techniques.
  • Experience welding using MAG and MMA processes.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings and specifications.
  • Reliable and focused on delivering high-quality workmanship.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Welding
  • Experience with MAG / MMA Welding
