Position: Welder / Fabricator

Location: Portsmouth

Type: Contract 4 month contract (Umbrella or LTD OR CIS)

Rate: £21p/h

About the Role:

The role involves carrying out high-quality welding and fabrication activities within a busy marine and engineering environment. The successful candidate will work to engineering drawings and welding procedures, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

  • Carry out FCAW welding on a range of marine and engineering components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Complete weld preparations, fit-up, and finishing activities as required.
  • Conduct visual inspections of completed welds and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and organized working environment in line with company procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Mig & Mag welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
  • Relevant welding qualifications or coded welding certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within an engineering or marine environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
