CEB specializes in the design, manufacture, and repair of metal components, including line boring, structural steel work, and a wide range of welding and fabrication requirements. The company provides onsite services at customer locations as well as project work at its Billingham site, supported by a transport service for moving materials and equipment. CEB works across diverse projects, giving team members exposure to different industries and fabrication challenges. Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Welder Fabricator based in Billingham, with some work-from-home flexibility for planning, documentation, or training tasks. The Welder Fabricator will interpret technical drawings and specifications, prepare materials, and carry out welding and fabrication of structural steel and other metal components. The role may involve onsite work at customer locations, assisting with installation, repairs, and line boring, as well as workshop-based fabrication at the Billingham facility. The Welder Fabricator will collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines, maintain equipment, follow health and safety guidelines, and complete required job documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong welding and fabrication skills, with experience in MIG, TIG, or stick welding and structural steel work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications, and translate them into accurate fabrication tasks.
- Competence in measuring, cutting, and preparing materials using hand tools and fabrication machinery (e.g., grinders, saws, drills).
- Experience with onsite work, installation, repair tasks, and familiarity with safe working practices in workshop and field environments.
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality, precise work.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a professional approach to interacting with colleagues and clients.
- Basic computer skills for completing job reports, tracking work, and participating in remote meetings or training when working from home.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, or a related field; industry certifications are an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
