MIG Welder / Fabricator - Harwich, Essex - Day Shift - Full Time - Up to £17 p/h

We are currently recruiting for a MIG Welder with fabrication experience to join a well-established engineering and fabrication business based in Harwich, Essex. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity offering long-term stability. This role would suit someone with previous MIG welding experience, confident working with mild steel, and able to carry out general fabrication tasks from engineering drawings.

About The Role

You will be involved in the fabrication and welding of a range of metal components and structures within a busy workshop environment. From data centres to industrial energy systems, bespoke noise control solutions built on design excellence, combining MIG welding with light to medium fabrication duties, ensuring high-quality finished products are delivered to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • MIG welding mild steel components to a high standard
  • Hand fabrication including cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembly
  • Working from technical drawings and job sheets
  • Preparing materials and setting up parts for welding
  • Inspecting finished work to ensure quality standards are met
  • Carrying out basic maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Supporting workshop production targets and deadlines
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a MIG Welder / Fabricator
  • Confident with hand fabrication and general workshop duties
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable (for top salary bracket)

  • Previous experience in a fabrication or engineering workshop environment
  • Strong all-round welding and fabrication skillset
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances and deadlines
  • Experience working with jigs and fixtures
