About The Role

At Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, we are delivering high-quality manufacturing solutions that support some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking skilled Plate Welders to join our growing team at our Wirral manufacturing facility.

As a Plate Welder, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of high-integrity mild steel and stainless-steel ductwork. Working within a quality-driven and safety-focused environment, you will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards whilst supporting project delivery requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Fabricate and weld bespoke high-integrity ductwork components manufactured from stainless steel and mild steel.
  • Carry out welding of QC1 stainless steel and mild steel ductwork.
  • Work in accordance with approved welding procedures and quality requirements.
  • Ensure all equipment is inspected and maintained prior to use.
  • Monitor workmanship standards and contribute to a "Right First Time" culture.
  • Identify hazards and support the implementation of safe systems of work.
  • Participate in daily production and planning meetings.
  • Promote Balfour Beatty values, Zero Harm, and sustainability initiatives.

Who we're looking for

Essential

  • Proven experience fabricating and welding stainless steel and mild steel ductwork.
  • Welding qualifications in accordance with BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017.
  • Understanding of isometric drawings, fabrication tolerances and welding procedures.
  • Experience working with sheet metal thicknesses between 2mm and 3mm.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
