Company Description

Landguard Engineering specializes in the fabrication of bespoke steelwork designs for industrial and commercial applications in the London Area, United Kingdom. The company designs and manufactures acoustic and ventilation packages for large industrial environments, structural and architectural steelwork, and large diameter exhaust gas pipework. Landguard Engineering’s projects span complex, custom-built solutions that demand high-quality workmanship and precision. Team members work closely with engineering and design professionals to deliver durable, efficient, and tailored steel structures for a wide range of clients.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Welder role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Welder will fabricate and assemble steel structures and components according to technical drawings, specifications, and safety standards. Daily tasks include:

  • Selecting appropriate welding processes
  • Preparing materials
  • Performing high-quality welds on structural, architectural, and industrial steel components

The role involves:

  • Inspecting and testing welds
  • Identifying defects
  • Performing repairs as needed

The Welder will maintain a safe and organized work environment and will collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to required quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong welding skills with experience in Arc Welding and general Welding techniques.
  • Proficiency in TIG Welding and MIG Welding for a range of steel fabrication tasks.
  • Good understanding of Materials, including different steel grades and their properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication plans, and welding symbols.
  • Previous experience in industrial or structural steelwork fabrication is highly beneficial.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, including familiarity with PPE, safe lifting, and equipment handling.
  • Attention to detail, good manual dexterity, and ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in welding or metal fabrication is an advantage.
