About The Role
You'll provide essential administrative and document control support to our Welding and Inspection team, helping to keep project information accurate, organised, and accessible. Your work will support the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of inspection and integrity activities across National Gas Services (NGS).
Why this role matters
National Gas Services (NGS) provides specialist pipeline inspection, maintenance, repair, and emergency response services across the UK and Ireland. With more than 45 years of experience and a nationwide depot network, we support gas transmission and distribution operators with critical services that help keep energy flowing safely.
Working closely with our Welding and Inspection team, you'll help make sure important project documentation, quality records, and business systems are kept up to date. Accurate information is vital to keeping projects running smoothly, supporting compliance requirements, and enabling operational teams to deliver their work safely and efficiently.

What you'll be doing
- Produce and maintain weld packs, inspection records, and quality documentation to support project delivery
- Coordinate the preparation and issue of quality assurance documentation to internal teams and customers
- Support Welding and Inspection Engineers and Inspectors with document control, certification management, and project administration
- Maintain accurate project information across systems including SharePoint, Salesforce, SAP, and other business databases
- Keep welding, inspection, and contractor records up to date and easily accessible
- Raise purchase orders and support procurement activities through business systems and processes
- Contribute to project reporting, customer deliverables, and close-out documentation
What you'll bring
This role would suit someone who enjoys organisation, has a great eye for detail, and likes working with information and systems to help teams stay on track.
Essential
- Experience in an administrative or coordination role involving technical, quality, or project documentation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and SharePoint
- Experience using business systems and databases
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work
- Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Understanding of document control principles or quality processes
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable
- Experience supporting engineering, construction, welding, inspection, or integrity teams
- Familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, Coupa, or similar business systems
- Understanding of welding documentation requirements
- Knowledge of NDT, quality assurance, or engineering records
- Experience supporting process or system improvements within a team environment
