Welding Supervisor – Leven, Fife
Location: Leven, Fife / Levenmouth area
Contract: 10+ months
Opportunity: Temporary to permanent, subject to performance and client requirements
Payment: PAYE
Gross weekly earnings on days: £1,922.03 local / £2,192.03 travelling
Gross weekly earnings on nights: £2,245.65 local / £2,515.65 travelling
Lodging allowance: £45 per day for eligible travelling workers
Weekly figures are based on 60 hours and are gross before PAYE deductions.
We are recruiting experienced Welding Supervisors for a major structural fabrication requirement in the Levenmouth area of Fife.
The contract is expected to run for 10+ months. The role will involve leading frontline welding teams within a busy industrial fabrication environment, supporting the delivery of substantial structural steelwork.
Day and night shift opportunities are available. The weekly earnings below are based on 60 hours, with a daily lodging allowance available to eligible travelling workers.
There is also an opportunity to move from temporary to permanent employment, subject to performance and the client's requirements.
This role would suit someone with strong technical welding experience and proven supervisory capability who is looking for a longer contract and the possibility of a permanent position.

The Work
As Welding Supervisor, you will coordinate daily work, allocate resources and support safe, productive delivery. Typical duties are expected to include:
- Supervising and supporting welding teams on a day-to-day basis
- Planning daily work and allocating tasks and resources
- Leading safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Ensuring work follows procedures and required specifications
- Monitoring welding quality and supporting corrective action
- Monitoring progress against production targets
- Reporting risks, delays and resource constraints to management
- Supporting attendance, timekeeping and team performance
- Guiding team members and providing practical support on the job
Previous supervisory experience within marine engineering, shipbuilding or heavy structural fabrication would be particularly relevant.

Travelling totals include the taxable lodging allowance for six days worked, subject to eligibility. All figures are gross before PAYE deductions and depend on the hours and shifts available.
Requirements
- An apprenticeship, advanced technical qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong technical welding experience
- Proven experience supervising and coordinating operational teams
- Ability to work to welding procedures and quality requirements
- Ability to plan work and allocate resources effectively
- Good communication and people management skills
- A practical approach to safety, quality and productivity
- Ability to identify and report production constraints
