Role Description
The Welfare Cabin Engineer is a full-time, on-site and mobile role based from our depot in Harlow. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and preparing welfare cabins and related equipment to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for hire. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Carrying out inspections
- Diagnosing faults
- Performing electrical and plumbing repairs where required
- Completing routine servicing according to company standards and compliance requirements

The Welfare Cabin Engineer will also:
- Organize and record maintenance activities
- Support the logistics team with cabin movements
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet customer timelines
The role involves adhering to health and safety guidelines, communicating clearly with the office and yard teams, and occasionally assisting with other hire equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- Practical skills in maintenance and repair of cabins, site accommodation, or similar equipment, including basic electrical and plumbing competencies.
- Ability to conduct inspections, identify faults, and follow servicing schedules and compliance procedures for hire equipment.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices, including safe use of tools, manual handling, and working in a busy yard or site environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with operations, logistics, and customer service teams.
- Good organizational skills, including accurate record-keeping, time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple jobs.
- Relevant experience in plant hire, construction, or facilities maintenance is highly beneficial.
- Full, valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally as required for cabin deliveries or site visits.
- Willingness to learn, follow company procedures, and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.
