Best People; Welfare Officer – East / Newmarket
Based in Newmarket office.
- Hours: 35 per week
- Contract Type: Full time - Permanent
Welfare Officer – East Region
Racing Welfare is a national charity supporting British horseracing’s current and retired workforce. We are looking to recruit a Welfare Officer to join our amazing Welfare team in the South.

Role Requirements
- Highly motivated and flexible
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of professional boundaries
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience of working with and supporting people
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection (training will be provided)
- Knowledge and experience of the thoroughbred horseracing and breeding industries is desirable

Responsibilities
- Work from our Newmarket office
- Travel across the region required (own car needed, mileage allowance paid)
- Promote the ethos of the charity
- Offer impartial information, advice, guidance, and support to all those connected to the industry
Additional Information
- Direct contact with young people and vulnerable adults
- Work of a sensitive nature
- Subject to a satisfactory, enhanced DBS disclosure
- Checks against the DBS barred lists
