Who We Are

Rock City is one of the UK’s most iconic live music venues and club spaces, right in the heart of Nottingham. For decades, we’ve welcomed huge artists, breakthrough bands, massive club nights and thousands of music lovers through our doors.

Behind every gig, club night and sold-out event is a team of people making it happen, from bar staff and floor teams to production, management, promotions, security, welfare and everything in between.

We’re proud of the energy, personality and hard work our team brings to the venue. It can be busy, loud, late and fast-paced, but it’s also fun, rewarding and full of moments you won’t get in a normal job.

If you love music, nightlife, people and being part of something with a bit of history behind it, Rock City could be the place for you.

Your Role

As a member of our Welfare Team, you'll play an important role in helping to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone attending our events. You'll be there to support customers who may need a little extra help, making sure they feel looked after and can enjoy their night safely.

You'll patrol both inside and outside the venue, keeping an eye out for anyone who may be vulnerable, unwell, distressed, or in need of support. This could include helping reunite people with their friends, providing reassurance, charging phones, helping customers make arrangements to get home safely, or simply being someone they can talk to when they need support.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll also help run the welfare desk, provide water and lollipops to customers as they leave the venue, and assist our First Aid team when required. Working closely with the wider venue team, you'll help ensure that any concerns are identified early and handled with care and professionalism.

This role is ideal for someone who is approachable, calm under pressure, and genuinely cares about helping others. You'll need to be observant, patient, and confident speaking to people in a range of situations, while always treating customers with respect and understanding.

About You

Experience is always welcome, but attitude matters most. We're looking for people who are approachable, caring, and genuinely want to help others. You'll be someone who can stay calm in challenging situations, communicate clearly, and make people feel comfortable and supported.

You'll need to be observant and confident enough to step in when someone may need help, while always showing patience, understanding, and respect. Whether you're reassuring someone who is feeling overwhelmed, helping resolve a situation, or simply being a friendly face when someone needs support, your approach can make a real difference.
